Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis has made history, leading the Progressive Liberal Party to a second consecutive term in office and breaking a political trend that lasted for decades in The Bahamas.
Unofficial results showed the PLP winning 33 of 41 seats, nearly matching its strong 2021 performance and securing another decisive national mandate.
The PLP delivered an especially strong showing in New Providence, holding the vast majority of seats across the island. The victory reflects continued confidence in the Davis administration’s vision for economic growth, opportunity, national development and stability.
Throughout the campaign, the PLP focused on economic recovery, increased foreign investment, expanded opportunities for Bahamians and continuing the progress made during the first term.
In his victory speech, Prime Minister Davis thanked supporters and emphasized unity, gratitude and national progress.
“Tonight is a political victory, but this is truly a victory for the whole country,” he said. “For the first time in almost a generation, we have a historic opportunity. Let us make the most of it.”
The Prime Minister pledged to continue working for all Bahamians while advancing initiatives focused on worker protections, housing support, healthcare improvements, artificial intelligence, training opportunities and stronger economic development.
The victory marks a historic moment in Bahamian politics and positions the country for a new chapter of continuity and long-term national planning.
