The FNM’s Legacy of Cocaine, Cowardice, and Contempt. DAMES MUST RESIGN
The Free National Movement (FNM) is no longer a political party; it is a crime scene. For years, the FNM has paraded under the banner of “Accountability and Transparency,” but the latest explosion in Mount Moriah has revealed that the “Torching” they once promised was nothing more than a smokescreen for systemic rot. If Michael Pintard thinks he can lead this country while dragging the weight of the Dames scandal behind him, he isn’t just mistaken—he’s delusional.
The Dames Disaster: 200 Kilos of Betrayal
The stunning revelation that Marvin Dames—the former Minister of National Security, the man once charged with guarding our borders—is a business partners with a man arrested in the United States with 200 kilograms of cocaine is the final nail in the FNM’s coffin. To add insult to injury, the boat involved reportedly belongs to Dames himself.
This isn’t a “miscalculation.” This is a catastrophic breach of the public trust that makes the FNM’s mantra of integrity look like a sick joke. How can the FNM look a Bahamian mother in the eye and talk about “getting tough on crime” when their own candidate’s assets are surfacing in international narcotics busts? The hypocrisy isn’t just thick; it’s suffocating.
The Old Guard vs The New Incompetence
The internal carnage is absolute. From the deep belly of the FNM, the titans have finally seen enough. Hubert Ingraham, Tommy Turnquest, and Brent Symonette have reportedly formed an unholy alliance to demand what Pintard is too weak to do: fire Dames immediately. When the architects of the party have to come out of retirement to stop the bleeding, it is a clear admission that Michael Pintard has lost control of the wheel.
The Mount Moriah Constituency Association is in a state of open revolt, reportedly calling for Dame’s head in emergency meetings. Yet, Pintard sits in a state of paralyzed indecision. His failure to act with lightning speed to excise this cancer proves he is fundamentally unfit to lead. This is not leadership; it is a hostage situation where the “misfits” are holding the party—and the country’s future—at gunpoint.
A Three-Legged Donkey in a Thoroughbred Race
The monied interests have checked out. The donors who once fueled the FNM engine have looked at Pintard’s “three-legged donkey” of a campaign and realized it doesn’t stand a chance against the well-conditioned, high-performance Thorobred of the PLP. They are refusing to throw good money after bad, leaving the FNM to wither on the vine.
Social media is a wildfire of mockery and rage. Sensible FNMs are no longer defending the “Red Splash”—they are jumping overboard before the ship hits the bottom of the ocean. The party has become a collection of childish inconsistencies and amateur-hour blunders that have insulted the intelligence of every Bahamian voter.
The Verdict
The Bahamian people are not fools. We see the missteps, the misjudgments, and the blatant disregard for the moral standard required to govern. The FNM has shot itself in the foot so many times that it no longer has a leg to stand on.
The mantra is dead. The integrity is gone. The FNM is a hollow shell of a party that has chosen to protect a scandal-ridden candidate over the sanctity of the nation. They are not serious about leading; they are merely desperate to survive.
On election day, the Bahamian people must—and will—give them the political burial they have so earned.
