The Immigration Department the capital on Friday 6th August 2019 with two (2) teams in support of its staff to both Abaco and Grand Bahama with hurricane relief supplies. It is a show of moral support for their colleagues and also the communities.

The Grand Bahama Team, led by Senior Immigration Officers Peter Joseph and Vonetta Flowers, departed via Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) vessel HMBS Nassau.
Team Abaco is led by Assistant Director for Immigration Dwight Beneby and Chief Immigration Officer Rudy Ferguson. They departed from the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA).
While on the affected islands, they will also be involved in the Search and Rescue efforts. The K-9 Unit from the Department of Immigration was also included in the trip.
