NASSAU — Michael Pintard, the man who wants to be Prime Minister, just earned himself a new title inside the Free National Movement: Backstabber-in-Chief.
Furious FNM insiders have leaked bombshell details of how Pintard betrayed Senator Michaela Barnett-Ellis — tossing her aside in cold blood to push forward Lincoln Deal II, a failed entrepreneur and political lightweight, as the preferred candidate for Killarney.
“Michael used her,” one senior party source told the Bahamas Herald. “She did all the groundwork. She was loyal. She showed up. And he fed her to the wolves for a Minnis puppet.”
The motive? Pure politics. Pintard is said to be panicking about the return of former PM Hubert Minnis, who still holds sway in Killarney. Lincoln Deal — a longtime Minnis mentee — is being parachuted in as a political buffer. “He thinks if he picks Deal, Minnis won’t challenge him,” said one disgusted FNM council member. “It’s cowardly.”
Barnett-Ellis is furious.
“She’s insulted. And she’s hurt,” another source confirmed. “She’s looking at a man she supported through scandal and pressure — and now he’s thrown her out like garbage for someone with no record, no credibility, and no clue.”
Lincoln Deal II, the man at the centre of the storm, is best known for failed ventures, flashy Instagram posts, and empty political promises. Critics inside the party have labelled him “a mascot for Minnis” and “a placeholder to keep real talent out.”
But Pintard seems to think Deal can solve his Minnis problem — even if it means burning one of the FNM’s few credible female voices in the process.
“What Pintard just did tells you everything about how he views women in the party,” said one high-level campaign strategist. “Michaela is a lawyer, a senator, and a serious candidate. Lincoln is… well, Lincoln.”
The betrayal has ripped open fresh wounds in a party still trying to recover from leadership feuds, lack of direction, and a divided base. Now, FNM supporters in Killarney are questioning Pintard’s judgement — and his loyalty.
“This man will sacrifice anyone to hold onto power,” one party elder fumed. “He’d rather please Minnis than fight for the people who backed him.”
As the dust settles, Senator Barnett-Ellis is reportedly weighing her next move — and it may involve taking the truth public. “She’s done being polite,” one ally warned. “She has receipts.”
If Michael Pintard thought this stunt would silence his critics, he may have just unleashed a war inside his own party. And this time, the knives are pointed straight at him.
