The untimely and unexpected death of former Democratic National Alliance (DNA) leader and prominent businessman Chris Mortimer has raised eyebrows within law enforcement, prompting police to classify the incident as suspicious.
The event unfolded just before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday when Mortimer, driving a black Ford Escape, was traveling west on Lockhart Lane. For reasons yet unknown, he reportedly exited the vehicle while it was still in motion.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers were confronted with a chilling sight. The vehicle, found in reverse gear, had pinned Mortimer against a chain link fence. The severity of the injuries sustained in the incident resulted in Mortimer’s immediate death at the scene, despite the rapid response from the authorities.
The former DNA leader was well-known and respected in the community, and his sudden, tragic demise has sent shockwaves through both political and business circles. The peculiar circumstances surrounding Mortimer’s death, especially the unusual nature of the incident, have led the police to treat it with an air of suspicion.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing as law enforcement officials seek to unravel the exact sequence of events that led to this tragic loss.
