NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture in conjunction with Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), the National Junkanoo Committee (NJC) and the Junkanoo Corporation of New Providence (JCNP) held a press conference at the National Stadium, March 18, to present prize monies for the 2018 Boxing Day and 2019 New Year’s Day parades to Junkanoo groups and individual junkanooers. Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Lanisha Rolle announced that the Prime Minister said prize monies would be matched or doubled: “This year prize monies are being doubled,” she declared. Minister Rolle is pictured addressing the press conference and with Ministry personnel, JCNP and NJC representatives and junkanooers who accepted prize monies on behalf of their groups and as individuals.
