SHAMELESS DESPERATE POLITICIANS WILL SAY ANYTHING

We stand firmly behind our police officers, who courageously risk their lives daily to protect and serve our nation, and we are resolute in our pursuit of justice.”
“The previous administration’s crime rate noticed an uptick in crime after the pandemic ended as there was a 52 per cent increase in murders and a 42 per cent increase in armed robberies. Given the lockdowns, we would have seen a low crime rate during the pandemic.”
It seems Sands may have overlooked the public’s concerns when his administration was faced with the gang war on New Providence following the five killings that occurred during a holiday weekend. We want you to know that we understand and acknowledge these concerns, and we are working to address them.
After the pandemic, Marvin Dames, then-Minister of National Security, said, “Crime has been a systemic problem in the Bahamas for decades,” showing that similar instances happened under the Minnis administration.

Under the stern leadership of PM Philip Brave Davis, the New Day Government has taken decisive action to tackle crime in our communities. He said, “Our five-point plan focuses on prevention, detection, prosecution, punishment, and rehabilitation. We’re boosting community policing, using better technology like CCTV to monitor high-crime areas, and ensuring crime is met with real consequences.”
“While these statistics may not fully alleviate your concerns, we want to assure you that we are working tirelessly to address the rise in murders. We’ve already seen progress. Serious crimes like attempted murders are down by 19%, and armed robberies have dropped by 26%. We are committed to making our communities safer and will continue to double down on our efforts, leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of safety and security.”
