A FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER,STAYS TOGETHER
That is the prayer that the group prays when they meet, what happen?
Wonders never cease to amaze us—especially when betrayal, backstabbing, and deceit rear their ugly heads in places where unity should prevail.
The One Family Junkanoo Group, fresh off its impressive victories in the 2025 Boxing Day and 2026 New Year’s Day parades, deserves commendation. Under the strong and steady leadership of Chairman Vernon Rolle, a man widely respected and deeply appreciated within the group, One Family has reached new heights. His firm hand and clear vision have played a pivotal role in their recent success.
But beneath the celebration, all is not well.
A dark cloud looms over the organization. A faction of detractors—individuals who appear more comfortable with discord than progress—has been quietly working against the very success the group now enjoys. Among them are former chairmen Rorry Saunders, Silbert Ferguson, and Darron Bastian, brother of Sebas Bastian. Their actions suggest a troubling pattern: playing both sides while undermining the group from within.
These are the same individuals who reportedly resisted efforts for One Family to cooperate with the government’s initiative to bring order and reform to Junkanoo. Behind the scenes, they agitated, pressured, and attempted to steer the group away from constructive engagement. Their influence, however, did not prevail—thanks in large part to Rolle’s refusal to bow to pressure.
One Family’s focus has always been clear: Bay Street, performance, and excellence—not unnecessary conflict or political entanglement.
Yet now, these same former leaders have allegedly mounted a campaign to remove Rolle. Why? Because they can no longer control the direction of the group. This is not about progress; it is about power. It reflects an outdated mindset—one that cannot accept that leadership can come from an “ordinary” man who chooses independence over obedience.
But One Family is no stranger to adversity. It has weathered storms before, and it must not allow a small group of disgruntled voices to derail its future. The group belongs to its members—not to relics of the past clinging to influence for selfish ends.
The public is watching closely. What unfolds next will determine whether unity and progress prevail—or whether hidden agendas and division take center stage.
Tomorrow will tell the story IF ALL IS WELL IN THE FAMILY
